A new television ad will run in four states and 13 media markets beginning Thursday, August 26, to educate citizens about the straining effects of wasteful government spending on small businesses. To view the ad, click here.

The ad states that small businesses create two-thirds of new jobs in America, “but at every turn, Washington is making it harder for small business to succeed.”

Joe Miller has a narrow lead over Sen. Lisa Murkowski in a surprising Alaska Senate primary. If the absentee ballots break hard for Murkowski she may narrowly escape, but at the moment it looks at least as likely that Miller will pull the upset. If he does, Murkowski’s support for energy taxes may be one of the major reasons.

Throughout the health care debate, conservatives warned what a government takeover of our health care would mean for America’s health care system. Conservatives said government intervention would restrict access to affordable and quality care, government spending and premiums would skyrocket and Americans would be forced out of their current health care plans. Important decisions would not be made by doctors and their patients but through bureaucrats in Washington who would put cost above quality care in their decision-making.

In the coming months, there will be a big test on rationing care. Medicare may end its coverage of two successful anti-cancer drugs, Provenge and Avastin.
