A couple of days ago, the Havelock (N.C.) News ran an interesting article that detailed a recent trip to Washington by three local officials looking for $48.2 million in taxpayer-funded pork.  Seems they've even spent $38,000 local taxpayer dollars to hire fancy high-priced Washington lobbyists to help them get support from U.S. Sens. Elizabeth Dole and Richard Burr and U.S. Rep.
