The Federal Communications Commission has moved to regulate the Internet – a move which makes them a regulatory vigilante.
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), Ranking Member on the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, today said new regulations adopted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) threaten the future economic growth of the Internet. Sen. Hutchison also said she will introduce a resolution of disapproval in an effort to halt the new rules.
She can force a floor vote with 30 Senators and it requires only a simple majority to pass it. Just let Obama veto it – make my day!
You can watch Senator Hutchison’s floor speech on net neutrality here.
If you wonder if this is a wise move, know that Sen. Al Frankin thinks the FCC doesn’t go far enough. If that doesn’t tell us how misguided the FCC action is, what does?
Our hat's off to Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison for her efforts to protect us from an over-intrusive federal government and their efforts to do what Congress refused to do - to regulate the internet!
