Watchdog of the Month – Jonathan Okray

When the city of Killeen chose to give the fired City Manager a $750,000 golden parachute at the taxpayers' expense, Jonathan Okray was incensed.

Okray – a 20-year Army veteran and Killeen resident – organized a citizen-driven effort to hold the city council accountable, which has lead to a recall election in Killeen.

Okray is AFP-Texas' Watchdog of the Month for October for standing up to the Killeen City Council and their failure to explain to the public why they made such a payment, and for his protecting taxpayers' interests.

Our hat's off to you, Jonathan. We congratulate for being named AFP-Texas' Citizen Watchdog of the Month.
