Tour Across the 2nd, 7th and 8th Congressional Districts to Expose Voting Records of Congressmen Bob Etheridge, Mike McIntyre, Larry Kissell and Other Big Spending Politicians
RALEIGH- Americans for Prosperity will use the Labor Day holiday to begin its November Is Coming Bus Tour to urge citizens to hold Congressmen Bob Etheridge, Mike McIntyre, Larry Kissell, and other big spending politicians accountable if they continue to support policies that are bankrupting America and North Carolina.
“With so many of our citizens laboring away to pay for the big government policies of our Congress, I can’t think of a better day than Labor Day to start our November is Coming Bus Tour to hold big spending politicians accountable,” said Dallas Woodhouse, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-North Carolina. “Etheridge, McIntyre and Kissell have joined with Nancy Pelosi in ushering in a new era of bigger government, endless bailouts, a permanently broken federal budget and government control over our decisions. Folks need to send a clear message to Mr. Etheridge, Mr. McIntyre and Mr. Kissell that struggling taxpayers can’t afford any more bad decisions from Congress.”
Concerned North Carolina citizens will be asked to sign a petition to Congressmen Etheridge, McIntyre, Kissel, and other big spending politicians, urging them to oppose big government programs or any other freedom-killing policies.
Speakers at the events will include representatives from Americans for Prosperity, The Civitas Institute, The John Locke Foundation, local activists and (at some events) Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory.
More than 371,000 Americans have signed AFP’s November Is Coming petition at www.NovemberIsComing.com telling their policymakers, elected officials, and candidates that if they support big government policies, petition-signers will remember in November.
Dear Policymakers, Elected Officials, and Candidates: You know that November is coming and voters care about the issues. Left-wing policies continue to drive Obama’s agenda for even bigger government. We want you to oppose big government programs or any other freedom-killing policies or we will remember in November.
Activists will be encouraged to go door-to-door and do at-home phone banking as part of a citizen education effort to let people know where Congressmen Etheridge and Kissell stand on the issues and to encourage them to contact the Congressmen and to tell them to stop the out-of-control spending and big government policies.
“The public needs to know about Congressmen Etheridge, McIntyre and Kissell’s past support for endless bailouts, and their refusal to sign a pledge opposing cap-and-trade, a piece of legislation designed to regulate our lives and limit our freedoms. Their constituents can make a difference by letting them know they have had enough of these reckless policies,” said Woodhouse.
All events are free and open to the public.
