George Will To Keynote 4th Annual Defending the American Dream Summit in Washington DC, Aug. 27-28

-VA Gov. Bob McDonnell, Dick Morris, Herman Cain, Steve Moore, and John Fund confirmed to speak at national summit with 2,000 grassroots activists-

At a time when Americans are closely monitoring important policies being discussed in Congress, Americans for Prosperity Foundation will host its 4th annual Defending the American Dream® Summit to arm citizens with the facts and help them become informed and engaged citizens. Pultizer Prize-winning journalist and political commentator George Will is confirmed to headline the event held on August 27-28 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC.

“Never before have grassroots Americans been so interested in the challenges facing our nation and our states,” said Tim Phillips, president of AFP Foundation. “We have a sharp lineup of speakers on the most pressing issues – energy, spending, and Net neutrality, to name a few – and we’re excited to give people information they can share with friends and neighbors as they examine these important policies being discussed in Congress right now.”

The Summit includes a Friday afternoon general session with Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, Author and FoxNews Contributor Dick Morris, Radio Host and Conservative Commentator Herman Cain, the Wall Street Journal’s Stephen Moore and John Fund, and AFPF’s President Tim Phillips. There will also be workshops and panels that include policy updates and a strong emphasis on grassroots activism training.

The “Tribute to Ronald Reagan” Dinner Friday night will feature Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and political commentator George Will. And on Saturday, Summit attendees will join thousands of grassroots activists from across the country at Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor Rally” on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

“Over two thousand folks from AFP’s 31 state chapters and affiliates are taking time away from work before the summer ends to receive grassroots training on how to become more engaged citizens,” said Phillips. “That really shows the level of dedication and involvement Americans possess right now to be a part of the public policy process.”

Americans for Prosperity Foundation is offering bus packages to Washington, DC that weekend coming from 10 different states: Michigan, Virginia, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Arkansas, Florida, New Jersey, and Ohio.
