-New chapter brings AFP to 31 chapters and affiliates-

On the heels of a successful RightOnline Conference with 1,100 activists in attendance last month, grassroots free-market group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is pleased to announce the establishment of its newest state chapter in Nevada, and welcomes aboard Adam Stryker, a resident of the southwest Las Vegas valley and seasoned grassroots activist, as the new chapter’s state director. AFP now has 31 state chapters and affiliates with members in all 50 states.

“Americans for Prosperity has been extremely active in the battleground state of Nevada, calling on Senator Harry Reid to rein in spending and stop pushing his big government agenda that Nevadans clearly don’t support,” said Tim Phillips, president of Americans for Prosperity. “Adam is the right person to build on those efforts and lead the charge for free market reforms in Nevada. We’re proud to welcome him as the leader of AFP’s newest state chapter.”
Prior to joining AFP, Stryker worked for the Las Vegas Sands Corporation where he was Coordinator of Government Affairs and Community Relations until 2009. He oversaw the Sands Kansas Casino proposal, managing grassroots and public official communication strategies and overall strategy development. As part of this measure, Adam managed a petition drive that gathered over 5,000 signatures of support for the project. He implemented a direct mail campaign to educate the community about the initiative, and oversaw focus groups, media relations, and event coordination for local residents and public officials.

After gaining government relations experience in the private sector, Stryker went on to serve as a Legislative Aid to the Assistant Minority Leader in the Nevada legislature. He assisted in crafting legislation and managed messaging for testimonies and speeches.Most recently, Stryker worked for j3 Strategies as a campaign management consultant on campaigns for U.S. Senate, Nevada State Senate, and a variety of other local races. As a Coalitions Director, he organized over 1,000 individuals from every walk of life into a mobilized grassroots force, and managed government affairs clients ranging from large gaming corporations to arena and commercial development programs.

He attended Creighton University, earning a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Policy in 2003, and studied abroad at the Istituto Venezia during his time as an undergraduate.
