Sanford, Southern Pines, Rocky Mount November is Coming events

The North Carolina Chapter of Americans for Prosperity today announced a series of November is Coming events across North Carolina to urge North Carolinians to hold their elected officials accountable for votes to raise taxes and expand government on the national, state and local levels.

The events are free and open to the public. The events will include free food and activities for children. The purpose behind the events is to educate the public on the voting records of their member of Congress and their members of the General Assembly, and recruit volunteers to help with voter education efforts.

Attendees will hear from various tea party and grassroots activists. They can also sign up to help take back their government from big spending politicians during the rally. AFP’s November is Coming project will include a large get out the vote to stop the spending effort in November.

Concerned North Carolina citizens will be asked to sign a petition to Congressman Heath Shuler, Congressman Bob Etheridge and several members of the North Carolina General Assembly urging them to change course and vote against big government legislation or be voted against in November.

“Our elected officials have to know they’re going to be held accountable for their votes,” said Dallas Woodhouse, state director of Americans for Prosperity-North Carolina. “Their decisions are already killing jobs and raising taxes, and the North Carolina economy simply can’t afford it.”

“If you voted yes to the government takeover of health care; vote yes to cap-and-trade energy taxes or fail to stop any related EPA regulation; vote yes to any more bailouts; or fail to stop any attempts to regulate the Internet.”
