Stop Cap-and-Trade - Support Sen. Johanns' Legislation

John Fund of the Wall Street Journal reports the lame-duck session (post-November elections, yet before new members are seated in January) is a target for liberals to enact their radical agenda without the fear of voter retaliation – because it already happened.

Rep. Raul Grijalva, co-chair of the Progressive Caucus, said “the lame duck would be the last chance, quite honestly, for the foreseeable future” to pass liberal legislation like a public option (Harry Reid is still fighting for it), card-check (forced unionization) and cap-and-trade (hundreds of millions in new taxes and thousands of lost jobs).

To stop a lame-duck session from wrecking our economy and inserting more government control in our lives, Sen. Mike Johanns has introduced legislation to stop liberals from using gimmicks to force cap-and-trade legislation through the Congress. Read about the legislation here.

We are asking you to take action and do two important things right now to stop liberals from using gimmicks, like a lame-duck, to pass more of their radical agenda:

1) Contact Sen. Mike Johanns to support his effort to ensure our voices are heard in Washington, D.C. by calling (402) 758-8981 or send an email. http://johanns.senate.gov/public/?p=EmailSenatorJohanns

2) Contact Sen. Ben Nelson and ask him to support Sen. Johanns’ legislation. The Senator has already stated he opposes cap-and-trade, now we are asking Nelson to stand up to his party bosses and stop them from using a lame-duck to circumvent the will of the people. Call Sen. Nelson at (402) 391-3411 or send an email. http://bennelson.senate.gov/email-schedule.cfm
