I know that like me, you’ve been strongly committed to the vital principles of individual freedom, less government, and lower taxes. These are the principles that I’ve been fighting for all my life. As you know, these are the principles that guide Americans for Prosperity. That is why I eagerly accepted the offer to become the new State Director of the Colorado chapter of AFP.

As a businessman, radio talk show host and former candidate for U.S. Congress, just like you I fight every day for these principles and I am so honored to have the opportunity to work with you through AFP to bring fiscal sanity back to Colorado.

AFP has led some significant battles around the country including ending the federal offshore drilling ban and defeating tax hikes in New Jersey, California, Virginia and North Carolina. With more than 8,000 Colorado members of AFP, we can make a great difference for freedom over the coming years.

The reason AFP has been so successful is that it has the most powerful lobbyists the nation has ever seen – you, citizens rising up in a grassroots effort to stop the ever-increasing size and scope of government. The energy that everyday Americans showed at tea parties all across America are what makes AFP work. This group of citizen-lobbyists is doing a great job for our country and, with your help, we will do great things for Colorado as well. While the left has MoveOn.org and labor unions to do their bidding, conservatives now have Americans for Prosperity.

I have become the Colorado Director of AFP to help be a part of the grassroots effort to take our country back. We have many battles to fight here in Colorado to stop the growing size and scope of government at the state and local levels. Whether it is the government’s continued intrusion into every aspect of our lives or the impending battle to defend taxpayers by protecting Colorado’s Taxpayers’ Bill of Rights (TABOR) from Governor Ritter and his big-government allies, we have a tremendous amount of work to do right here at home.

I know that you joined Americans for Prosperity for the same reason I did – to make a difference. Together we can make AFP Colorado the most active and successful organization in America.
