After repeatedly attacking Las Vegas as the poster city for where Americans should not go during tough times, earlier this year President Obama gushed that he loves Las Vegas. Americans for Prosperity loves Vegas, too, and is bringing activists to town July 23-24 as a co-sponsor of AFP Foundation’s RightOnline® conference.
After the grassroots online training and educational speakers are finished, activists will have the unique opportunity to participate in AFP’s door-to-door citizen education initiative.
“We’re going door-to-door in Clark County to make sure citizens know the record of Harry Reid when it comes to cap-and-trade and the health care takeover,” said AFP President Tim Phillips. “We’re reminding politicians that November is coming, and educating people about where their representatives have stood on economic issues that affect every American family.”
AFP’s November Is Coming™ effort focuses on legislation coming out of Washington, as well as instances where congressional oversight is needed to rein in over-reaching federal agencies.
“Congress needs to know that Americans won’t stand for any more big-government, freedom-killing legislation like Harry Reid keeps pushing,” Phillips said. “Congress also must step in where agencies are trying to regulate the Internet, regulate energy use, and pursue policies that would harm our already battered economy. If they vote yes on these harmful policies, their constituents will vote no on them in November.”
To see the petition more than 367,000 Americans have signed letting their elected officials know November Is Coming, please visit http://www.novemberiscoming.com. Americans for Prosperity does not endorse candidates for public office and encourages all elected officials to vote against big government programs and in favor of more personal freedom.
