Americans for Prosperity Colorado Delivers Over 10,700 Petition Signatures in Support of Decision to Join Health Care Lawsuit
Denver, CO – Americans for Prosperity Colorado announced today that it will deliver over 10,700 signatures from Coloradans supporting Attorney General John Suthers’ decision to join the lawsuit against the federal government and force a Constitutional review of the recently-passed federal healthcare reform legislation. The petitions will be delivered on Wednesday, April 28th at 10:00 a.m. at the Office of the Attorney General at 1525 Sherman Street, 7th Floor, Denver, CO.
“John Suthers’ decision was based on the rule of law, and not on how many signatures can be turned in to his office,” said Jeff Crank, Colorado State Director of Americans for Prosperity. “However, Coloradans have risen to the occasion to let Attorney General Suthers know that they support his efforts to defend the people of Colorado from an over-reaching federal government.”
Crank also noted that ProgressNow Colorado, a left-wing extremist group which supports ever-encroaching federal laws and regulations, turned in less than 8,500 signatures to the Attorney General in opposition to his decision to defend Colorado citizens.
“The people of Colorado are clearly supportive of AG Suthers’ position on this issue,” Crank said. “We didn’t need to resort to thuggery at the local union hall to twist arms to sign the petition. Freedom groups from all across Colorado helped get the word out about the petition which counters the bullying tactics of the left in Colorado.” AFP Colorado joined with several other groups in Colorado, including 9.12 Project Colorado Coalition, Western Slope Conservative Alliance and others in gathering petition signatures.
The petition states: “We truly appreciate your courage and conviction in helping the people of Colorado say "NO" to an over-reaching, unchecked federal government that has forgotten its place, role and enumerated powers. Thank you for defending the U. S. Constitution and the citizens of Colorado. You appear to be one of the few elected officials currently in our state upholding your oath of office and following the principles that founded our great nation. Since our Governor and majority of the Colorado General Assembly disagree with you on this issue, we are especially grateful that you are representing the interests of the people of Colorado.”
Coloradans can still sign the petition by going to www.supportColoradoAG.com.
