Late last year AFP-Oklahoma joined an alliance called Oklahoma Constitutional Alliance (OCA) with the expectations and goals of combining with over 30 similar organizations in order to be more effective on issues each group cared about to include holding tea parties.
Today, Americans for Prosperity-Oklahoma announces its move to pull out of the Oklahoma Constitutional Alliance (OCA) due to differing goals and disagreement on issues adopted by the alliance.
Recently, the OCA leadership began discussing "militias" and carrying out direct attacks on the GOP and Gary Jones. We will not be a part of this behavior. We are here to protest not just taxes, but out-of-control borrowing, bailouts, and pork-barrel corruption, not to advocate anti-government militias.
AFP- OK will continue its effort to make Oklahoma a better state to work and live, and will work with the OCA on issues that are in line with our goals, but will no longer be formerly allied with them.
