The Arizona chapter of Americans for Prosperity hosted the big Phoenix-area Tax Day Tea Party at Diablo Stadium in Tempe. Over 7,000 activists and taxpayers from around the state came to the event. Guest speakers at the Tea Party included James T. Harris, KFYI 550 radio hosts Mike Broomhead and Terry Gilberg, former NM Governor Gary Johnson, former CO Congressman Tom Tancredo, entrepreneur and philanthropist Foster Friess, and AFP president Tim Phillips. The show included shout-outs from local Tea Party leaders, and presentations from Ax the Tax, AZ Health Care Freedom, and Prop 13 Arizona.
