Earlier this week we received word that the Health Care Freedom Act, House Joint Resolution 57, would be debated on Tuesday. An action alert was sent out to our members and you responded in a huge way! The sponsor personally asked me to thank all of you who responded. Your contacts made a difference with the bill passing 113-40.
Many find it hard to believe that anyone could vote against a common sense bill that places before the people of Missouri the opportunity to vote on whether they wanted to have the option to participate or not participate in a government run health care program. As you can see from the vote, 40 Representatives did object.
It's not too late to weigh in. The House will be giving final approval to HJR 57 when they return from the legislative recess. If you haven't contacted your Representative or Senator, you can do so by going here.
Many of asked who voted for and who voted against the bill. Information is one of the things we try to provide to our members so here is the vote on HJR 57. Ayes voted in favor of letting the people of Missouri decide whether they want the options of opting out and Noes voted against letting the people vote on it.
