Changing the Nation, One State at a Time
We are seeing the results of your grassroots efforts to control the size and cost of government. First, last week over 150 activists turned out for the Legislative hearing on LR 292, authored by State Senator Tony Fulton that reminds the federal government of its constitutional limits.
The testimony in support from everyday Nebraskans was overwhelming; and no one spoke in opposition. Would you take a moment to read the Lincoln Journal Star article, and most importantly under the Discussion tab leave a post supporting the resolution?
AFP-Nebraska cannot take credit for the success of Fridays hearing. So many individuals and grassroots groups across Nebraska worked very hard to make this happen. We are proud of the activist-led movement in Nebraska.

Overflow crowd at the hearing for limited government
The second success for limited government came Monday afternoon. As you may know, AFP-Nebraska is working hard to reform the CIR. Have no idea what were talking about? Thats okay! So much in government is unclear and not transparent. Thats part of the problem!
The Commission of Industrial Relations (CIR) is a state entity that sets the salary and benefits of public employees by settling labor disputes. When 70% of municipal budgets are employee compensation, that means 70% of your city property and sales taxes are spent by CIR decisions. In the current CIR structure there is no advocate for you, the taxpayer.
Monday the Legislatures Business and Labor Committee heard testimony on the CIR reform package, also introduced by Sen. Tony Fulton. The reforms are common-sense solutions that mean more control for you, the taxpayer, over how your money is spent.

The hearing room was packed with a coalition of grassroots activists, local elected leaders and free-market groups that wanted one thing: to control government spending. While supporters of CIR reform outnumbered opponents, our work is not done yet!
We need your help seeing CIR reform past the finish line.
Would you take a moment to email the Business and Labor Committee members and tell them why you as a taxpayer want to see common-sense returned to government?
Thank you for your work in defending our freedoms!
