Friday and Saturday, February 19-20, AFP-Oklahoma joined the Sooner Tea Party, and Oklahoma Constitutional Alliance in hosting the first Oklahoma Liberty Conference in Oklahoma City.

The two day event was set up to be an educational conference that provided people with the tools needed to know how to keep up to date in and stay involved in local politics. The keynote speaker was Sheriff Richard Mack, from Arizona, who, in 1994, filed a lawsuit challenging the Brady Bill to stop the federal government from forcing another unfunded mandate on states. He won a decision at the US Supreme Court on the issue of States' rights.

The proceeds from his speeches went directly to the County Sheriff Deputy Bullet Proof Vest Matching Fund, which provides much needed bullet proof vests to deputies across the state.
