More budget games

Our friend Marc Kilmer, a fellow at the Maryland Public Policy Institute, wrote about the shell game that is Gov. O'Malley's budget in the Salisbury Daily Times this week. More specifically, Kilmer hammered home the fact that the Governor is using $389 million of non-existent federal funding to balance the budget. If this money is not appropriated by Congress, we will be looking at another deficit problem.

The gimmickry that the O'Malley administration is using to balance the budget is simply irresponsible. Additionally, the Governor has transferred nearly $1 billion from special funds to cover the hole. AFP-MAryland believes that the Governor and legislature should make the tough decision of cutting spending and develop a plan for real economic growth.

I hope you will join us on March 3rd to testify against this terrible budget. Now is the time to have your voice heard and hold our elected officials accountable!
